Bad day Good day (Giveaway)

Well, it started off a pretty bad day. I manage 57 large townhomes for a large company. They told me I had to write everyone a notice of rent increase. The lowest was $35, to $100 increase. I was sick the whole time I was making out the notices...I had to ask my hubby to post them for me...I feel soooo bad, I personally know all these people and their personal situations, most of them are barely making it. Well, boy did I get some nasty notes!! Our 2 Bed. are now $745 and the 3 Bed are $875 ouch! A lot of people are going to move out...which puts a LOT of extra work on me! So, to make myself feel better....SHOPPING...I went back to Running with Scissors, I picked up Denim Blue and Sapphire Blue Glimmer Mist...Now that made me feel better.

When I got home I found a watercolor picture that was drawn on but not painted...I tried something new... I squirted some of the Glimmer Mist on a non stick surface and used it as a watercolor on the background. It wasn't quite as shimmery as I had hoped...so then I finished painting then spritzed the whole thing with Oyster pearl GM. It turned out so cute...Then I took my latest toys...COPIC Spica pens...shimmer in a pen!!! LOVE THEM! I used them on the flowers, hat, the eyes! and little touches here and there..the paper curled a bit but it will straighten out, I just got so excited about this stuff...
Oh dear! I just answered the door...One of my 4plexes is having sewage backing up...yuck!! Ok, plummer is on his way!!!
Now back to business...I tucked this into this very long blog, we'll see who really reads these things (lol) GIVEAWAY....I will give this snowlady card (it will be a card when I finish!) away on Sunday Eve. Just leave me a note letting me know you read this far! LOL
On to one more thing...I think I'm onto #5...I have this ugly wart mole on my lower eyelid...I laugh when someone remembers me, then I remember Oh Ya...they remember me! So anyway the day before Thanksgiving I'm going to a plastic surgeon to have it removed. I am really looking forward to this being done. Ok...leave those comments!!

Ok, I read this far!!! GIVEAWAY! YEA!

I'm excited that you are having your wart removed. I had to have a cyst removed once that was dead center just below my chin. Painless.

I haven't used the tools you were talking about in your post. I am very interested-- as a papercrafter. Maybe you could elaborate for me in an email. Are these paint pens? And, where do I get them?

Speaking of emails, I did get yours and will get right on it!

Oh, and sorry to hear about all of those unhappy tenants and what you are having to endure. If it makes you feel any better, we just started renting this home in May. We are paying 2150.00 here in So. Cal.. This is actually a great rent for this area. Rents for homes like these are about 2200.00 to 2500.00! When we were looking at townhomes, those were renting for about 1400.00 to 1900.00 depending on where they were.

Your tenants have it great!

Hugs, KJ

HI, I purchased your dear Give Thanks bird from Ebay. Just got it yesterday and I love it. It just the best. I'm going to write about it on my blog, it will be posted by Sun. Thanks for such a beautiful piece. It was packaged so safely too.

Yikes that's a bad day. I had one yesterday too. Rent increase is just horrible for people, we had taxes go up near our area and people can't make the rent or house payments. Something has to change. Good luck on you surgery and please enter me in your drawing. Have a good weekend.

I always read your posts and hope today is going better for you. I just received my first bottles of Glimmer Mist and have only used one color to spiff up a Halloween box I made last year - I'm anxious to do some more playing and I think I want some more colors. Anxious to see the final reult of the snowperson and hope I win.

Hi Laurie! how very, very cute! I am going to keep my fingers crossed for this give away! I am so sorry you had a not-so-good day :-( I absolutely know how you feel.. In the early years of our marriage, we managed 140 apts (yikes, how did I do that, I was only 19??) for 3 years, then left it for a while, then returned to later manage 40 townhouses for 7 years. I swore I would never return to it! We made some wonderful friends, but when it came time to give out rent increases, new rules, etc given by the company, we always too the flack for it.. I hated it! Anyway, here's hoping today is a wonderful, much, much better day for you!

I love your little watercolors--so whimsical and fun! And yes, I read to the bottom of your post here, so I guess that qualifies me. :-)
I tried some of the glimmer mist too, and I'm still experimenting with it.
Best wishes~
