Project....Box...and a little givaway....

This is a music box that I picked up for pennies
I sprayed it with a coat of white primer
I layered 3 thin coats of molding paste to hide the engraved hearts. Then antiqued it and paint the top. Looks a little different huh. Looking at this photo...I don't think I like the green lettering...I'm thinking the egg color...or the pink??? Let me know what you think...I'll will make you a tag if I use your idea...

I think I would like it to be the color of the eggs...it is charming of course!

You're right, the green's too much. Can you tone it down & make it "old", then wash a bit of the robin's egg color & add a few flowers here & there? ☺ Diane

I actually really like the green. I think that it does not compete with the design that way.

Laurie, I like the green. You could add a little sprig of something blue to the capital N to balance the eggs.

Well, I think the pink...maybe a deeper pink would be very pretty! I like it with the green, too! Very sweet...and what a difference!

I like the idea of egg color, maybe with a little of the dark antiquing that you did on the box just to highlight it a bit. Vicki Page the pages at charter dot net

Although I love the green I think the color of the eggs would make it pop.

It's beautiful!

I think I like the green, the blue eggs seem to have some green in them and it pulls it all together. Hope you find a color you like!

Hi Laurie...I actually like the green...but I would enhance with a bit of shadowing around the letters...possibly lighten the words a little and leave the darker as your shadow...

Very lovely project! I haven't tried molding paste yet ~ soon though!

I love it. Now if you are determined to change it, maybe you could intertwine some tiny vine with pink or blue flowers through the word. Sharon

Ewww..I love this - it's amazing what a little paint (and a TON of talent) can do for a sort-of crummy looking wooden box :-)

You did an amazing job transforming that box. I do think I would like the blue lettering, but as is, it is so artistically done.

Hi Laurie,
I think a brighter green like depression glass green would be nice. You did a great job on your sweet box. I love how you created something new out of something used.
Take care and enjoy your day,
Elizabeth
