What happened at your house Halloween night???
When we went for our drive the other day,
we stopped at an outdoor produce stand.
We brought
home these beautiful red pears. I suggested that we put them
outside, our deck is surrounded by a fence. They'll be fine...I said..
ummm, Dean went outside this morning and this is what he found.
Now what creature came in the middle of the night and had a snack???

So, what does one do with pears that have been nibbled on...why, you turn them around and take a picture so they can be painted...of course.

What a day.

I thought about not blogging tonight, I know I need to pick my winner so I can get it mailed out...but I just couldn't do it tonight. I had a rough day. I had a previous tenant give me a call, I could hear the anger in his voice, so I interrupted him and told him to call the main office and who to speak to and I hung up on him. He called back a few minutes later, and left a message...ooooh the language he used, the lies he told and ended up saying he was going to hire a lawyer....It upsets me soooo much and makes me scared to answer the door. I am really glad my husband is around. He didn't like the bill he received. And....he wasn't even the one renting here, it was his girlfriend!

I'll be better tomorrow!

Out and About

I'm getting interested in Photo manipulation. I purchased Photoshop Elements awhile back so I could take a digital class from Gail at Creative Workshops. She's fabulous to take from, her videos are so good. So, now she has another one...magic something...where you can learn to texture the background and do some layering...so off I went to take some pictures, I only had to go about 15 min and here are some pictures I took

Fridays Pictures

This is a watch that I purchased right before I moved away from Pasadena Calif. There was the neatest little shop that carried consignment jewelry from old estates. There was a wonderful Tea Room...she had tea cups hanging from the low rafters and lace and doilies hanging from every nook and cranny. I checked last time I was there to see if it was still there...it wasn't.
Anyway. It is so beautiful and tiny. I have listed it on my EBAY

My husband and I took another drive in the country, we came across this darling kitty. I didn't
photoshop this or any thing..I love how it turned out.
Oregon is becoming a huge competitor in the wine industry. I love how golden this vineyard turned. Funny how the sky looks aqua....oh it wasn't! It was grey and dreary looking. I'm thinking my camera was on the wrong setting

Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving....blackbird pincushion

I'm listing this on Ebay. I found this wonderful vintage sugar dish.

I added glittered pins and a charming vintage amber crystal. It is a pincushion, but how would it look with fall decorations.

Vintage Snowman

I was able to finish this one up last night. I painted the snowman on canvas that I had adhered crumpled tissue to it, I love how the paint got into the wrinkles.

Another Day

Another day on crutches...I needed to go to Walmart today...Husband wanted to come along...
I reminded him of the day in the grocery store...he said "Hey!!! Maybe they'll have one of those carts!" all excited. I'm saying....noooooo, you wouldn't...He's saying "ya Ya....I'll get one of those motorized carts....Well, he is walking in...no, he's hobbling in. Finds a lady in one of the carts checking out...he goes up to her and tells her he would sure like to have her cart. (ok, I'm really laughing hard by this time) So she kindly got out of her cart and let him have it. I turned back around see how he's doing and he has these crutches sticking out and he has a big ol grin on his face. Ok, its working out just fine...until...he discovered that when he backed up...it beeped...oh man!!! He loved going backwards after that!!!! What a day!
On to the picture above. yesterday I ran into a new antique mall in Silverton (new to me) and I found this one lonly shoe...for $1.60 ( weird price huh) It had to come home with me!
This was my doll back in the day...Patty Pay Pal...She was in storage, time to bring her out and get her dressed up...I learned how to fix her hair, cant wait to try it. Dress needs a little ironing, I plan to make her some shoes out of old lace...and yes...shes winking at you.

Update...

I want to see if you can imagine this.... My husband is a very manly man. Maybe a touch vain when he going out in public. Very outdoorsy, but really really funny. So, his leg is pretty bad. Still cant put it down without it hurting... Stacey had the day off, I asked her to bring over her crutches for dad. The week before, she showed me her crutches...she had painted them a pretty purple and put rhinestones on them...they are soooo pretty. Well, Dean didn't know that she had painted them, so when she brought them over we laughed and laughed. On the flip side of that, to be funny, I had some pjs that were way to big for me, so I had Dean put them on, they had purple flowers...So that was another big funny...So here is a manly man with womans purple Pjs walking around the house with pretty purple crutches.

About 2 hours later we needed to go to the store. Dean was so tired of being cooped up, he put his jeans on (just so you wouldn't think he kept my pjs on.lol) and hobbled out to the car. We got in to Winco (with the purple crutches) he quickly realized he wasn't going to be able to go with us. So we sat him down on the bench. When we went to pick him up...he really didn't want to go...all the women were commenting on his beautiful purple crutches. Stacey and I laughed sooo hard. When I get a chance I'll post photos of the crutches.

Oh dear, my latest problem

Oh man...when my husband get hurts he can be such baby!! I'm sorry, lol, but my husband went for a hike and I was to pick him up at a certain place at a specific time. I got there a few minutes early so I called him on his cell phone. He said that he was about 5 min. away. So I'm sitting on the side of the road and decided to call Stacey, we are chit chatting away and I see my husband...he jumps over a fence, starts sliding down towards the road....and disappears...what???

I'm looking, laughing and looking some more...I couldn't find him...where did he go??

I roll down the window and I hear a voice..."come help me!" So I get out, go around to the other side of the car...and... in this deeeeep ditch is my husband...he jumped, and missed and landed in the this really deep muck and he heard his leg pop. He hobbled into the car. He can moan and groan soooo loud.lol. We think he just pulled his ham string...the popping (I think it was just his foot coming out of the muck.lol) He is going to milk this for all he can. I'll give you an update tomorrow.

Are you ready for another

This ended up a little bottom heavy, so I added a piece of embroidered linen across the top.

I cant begin to tell you how much your comments mean to me...really. I enjoy making things so much and to get the positive feed back from you all, just warms my heart!

I added the latest Somerset Life mag. to my sidebar. I spray painted a bag with chalk board paint, then added polka dots. I made paper flowers to go in it. So, Thank You Jenny Doh!!

I just clicked on my blog, and to my surprise...it shows the bag down in the little pictures.lol

Jokes on me...When I came back to tell you...the little pictures change. oh well.

I LOVE snowmen!!

I love painting snowmen! This one was painted on a piece of art tissue that was attached to a piece of canvas with molding paste. I use washes and washes of color.

My newest toy. Thank goodness for coupons!!! A friend of mine had a pair of these and I tried them, they are s w e e t! They get those little threads cut right next to your fabric with no little tail. LOVE them!
