Lace and Lace

I thought I would share my lace with you...
the above picture is how it will end up in my book
Here it is with a little coffee added to it

Here is the beautiful lace as I found it

I go to our local Goodwill and look for clothing with texture
and is marked down half price. This had no label, I'm wondering
if it was hand made
I cut a chunk out of it, it dyed beautifully
I will sew it in my book

Then I found this skirt. I loved the lace on the bottom

with coffe, it looks old

And, here it is part of my book.
This is what I did on my day off today

Escondido / San Diego

Stacey and I went to the Urban Barn. This manniquin was the star of the show...price...
$1000
Covered in Sea Shells
They had these curtains lace on lace on lace

I love white chairs
We didn't stay long,
figured we were SO close to San Diego...
We had one last Mission in So. California to go to...
So we made a quick decision to head to Carlsbad to have lunch
at Dini's...oh so good.

Then off to the mission. Love this view. I wish they had left the
bricks their natural color and not painted them

The bells from the inside

The missions have the best fountains

The long walkways are always charming.
We still have 8 missions to go.
This summer we hope to drive to San Jose,
starting with the mission at San Luis Obisbo and work our way up.
My camera batteries died, I'll downsize Staceys pictures
and share what a beautiful day it was.

More pages of my book

I guess I forgot to check that all my photos were the right direction...Anyway, I painted a soft hydrangea I have yet to figure out what to do on the green page.
A little texture and lace

Hand painted nest then stitched on

The left page is a pocket, I'll be making a tag to fit in it.
I am going to add a piece of vintage jewelry to the white lace.
I added Goldens" absorbant ground"
under the painting, then I can use watercolors.

There is a pencil called Stabilo "All" it is so neat, you can
sketch, then add water to smudge it. I have it in black and brown
which you can see a touch of brown. I plan to get the green and aqua
Thankfully we have a Dick Blick not to far away
Hope you are enjoying my progression.
UPDATE
on the blossoms
I asked the gardner today...its a Pear tree.
Will I REALLY get pears????
He said I would...It will be fun to wait and see.

Addicted to sunset at the Beach

So, on the way down to the beach to have dinner and watch the sunset...

We passed this sign as we were coming into Newport Beach...

Stacey said "Thats the guys shop from the show Storage Wars"
Its an interesting show where there are all these people bidding on storage units that people have left.

Well, we stopped in, and here he is...not a nice guy. He bids on units that he doesn't want, just so the other guy has to pay more...we actually saw some of the things we saw him win on the show...
That was our Sat.
We went to Temecula today, pictures tomorrow.
I've need to take pictures of the things I'm working on.
I'm sewing, painting, soldering...busy, busy. Lots of fun.

Silly Kitty

My husband bought this dog bed for Bug...I sprinkled on a little catnip. After sniffing around a bit, he went belly up. Soooo funny.

A little something I picked up at the Flea Market. $3 ea. but how neat!!!

I woked on this little drawing in the car, I like how it turned out. Its on watercolor paper

I also picked up these little goodies. Love the silver salt shaker and the cloth tape measure...they are hard to find. I loved the colors in this scrap of quilt. I'm also taking a class on book making, I plan to use this quilt in my book.

Hope you all had a wonderful day.
What can I say, it was 86 today.
