My Newest Toy

I had a talkin to myself...I need some exercise, so I went through pros and cons of...going to the gym, walking on the track across the street, on and on...I kept coming back to "a bike" that is something I would keep doing...so I researched and visited bike shops. The owner of one store (just down the street) said he could order a last years model in a size that would fit me. I'm 5', right in between an adult bike and a kids bike. It is a dream to pedal. I've been going for at least an hour trip but usually I go in the morning, lunch time and in the evening when it cools down. The neighbor hood where I ride is wonderful. I'm going to get a bike rack for the back. The seat is so soft and cushy, but my tailbone still hurts, not sure what I can do about it.

I'm taking a class called Full Tilt Boogie, she uses lots of tapes, I found this pretty shiny tape at the dollar store...you cant beat that price!!

did some light washes

did a couple of layers on the background, adding salt

finished.

Some people clean their palettes, I like like to leave my color mixes

Me

I started blogging in 2008, I've had over 74,000 people look at my blog. I've gone through ups and downs, I was injured by my cat, I've moved out of state, my crafting is all over the place.

but one thing in all this time, I've never showen a picture of myself.

So, Stacey and I had a long conversation about her ability for taking great photos.

I guess I kinda of dared her, like...I bet you cant take a decent photo of me.

Well, she called me on it, it was right before sunset and she plopped my hat on my

head, handed me some sunglasses and said "lets go have fun"

we did, we laughed and laughed.

She wanted me to lean the way the flowers were leaning...I fell over, we laughed some more

I thought I would do this...one time, This is me

better yet, this is Staceys photography
(whew, I cant believe I'm ready to push the publish button)

Full Tilt Boogie Class Project

My latest project. If you haven't checked out Mary Ann Moss' Full Tilt Boogie, you should!

She wanted us to do a sample to learn to do signitures, before working on our big project.

So, I took apart a little vintage book. The pictures below is showing how I layered papers

(this technique came from Christy Tomlison)

Then I had to add lots of paint with a brayer, then painted the nest and egg.

I have to go out and find some waxed linen for the signitures tomorrow.

fun fun fun!

I love "ART"!!

This drawing actually was for a photography class called Photo Silly, its not really silly, but fun. We were to sketch what we saw through our fake view finder.

This too was for the photography class, but then I thought it would be fun to show you this cute little nest with bird...the DOLLAR store, can you believe it. I'll be painting it, but soooo cute

I hung my pictures in the apartments, they really look nice. So, off to Micheals I went, Large, larger largest. I cant wait to get started! They are calling my name!

Cheery Cherry's

Old book papers, scrapbooking papers then I layered an old baby clothes pattern. Then paints and sprays, brayered and pounced. Golden Acrylics and Watercolor Crayons. Finished it off using a marks "all" pencil, going over it with a mix of water and Goldens Fluid Acrylic Med.

It looks awesome in the kitchen apartment. (see previous post)

Pear Painting

Heres my story behind this picture...as an apt. manager as apt become vacant we are getting them updated. They look real nice except one thing...the circut breaker box in the kitchen. I want to cover them. So...I went to Micheals, for a few dollars I I got this large canvas.

I added lots of texture

Happy accident...I have a great stencel, as I was adding texture medium with my finger,

what ever paint was still on the stencel came off and mixed with the texture goop.

It worked out great.

I was so excited I painted some cherries, which I love even more!
