Oh my sweetpeas are blooming with my daisies, pink hydrangas and yellow roses. This is a beautiful handpainted vintage pitcher that I love using for floral arrangements.

Bluebird & Blackberries

I thought I would share this watercolor painting with you. It is on very heavy watercolor paper.

I had a "moment" this week. We got a new bed, our bed was on a wooden platform. I thought it might be nice to have it put on a metal frame, (so I could stash more lace and buttons!) Well, while I in the bedroom my husband kindly brought in the metal frame and sat it on the floor in front of the bedroom door. Right then the cat chose to make an exit outside (he is strictly an indoor cat). We keep a can of cat food in the kitchen for when this happens. So, my husband hollars...GET THE CAN OF CAT FOOD!! So I run out of the bedroom, stub my toe on the metal frame and down I went...I hurt my left arm pretty bad and 3 days later I am soooo sore!! Well, the new bed is on the platform...forget that metal frame!! LOL Laurie

Pretty Peonies

Here is a bouquet of dark pink peonies, I sat it in front of a vintage quilt. I just love my yellow cup, a white hankie has the sweetest embrodered edgeing. I enjoyed playing with the watercolors by putting the colors from the quilt into the white vase.

Summer Daisies and Cherries

I have been getting requests to show the watercolor paintings I have done from my still life set-ups. I have this red wall in my office and a narrow black table in front of it that I love to set up my still lifes. I have this vintage metal pitcher and this red metal basket I found at my local antique shop. I love this green vase and the daisies came from my garden. I really want to stretch myself and not do a realisim but try for a bit looser, abstract look. It was so much fun to paint.

Here is a still life I set up to do a watercolor from.I painted one of the walls in my office this red color...I was going through a red phase at the time lol.

Another Yellow Bird

I purchased a long vine of these great yellow berries, I dissembled part of it to make this great little wreath to put my little wool yellow birdie. The deep yellow bow is made from vintage ribbon.

Charming Yellow Bird

I just had to do a soft pale yellow bird on a silver soup spoon. I found the cutest yellow vintage flowers so I used one with some of these yellow berries. I used soft yellow glitter on the tops of the pins. I have this for sell on my etsy site

Vintage Ribbon Lace and Buttons

I made this wall hanging at the same time as the sewing machine cover. It was when our local fabric shop got their first color copy machine and they had the fabric sheets that we could purchase...Oh what fun I had! I went through all the vintage books and postcards and sewing machine advertisements that I had collected. Then went through my stash of old pillow cases and buttons and trims.

Did I ever have a good laugh when this kitten climbed into my back and started playing with the stuffin. I had a chance to make a few birds this past weekend. I put one on an old ladle that had the handle bent so it can hang. Then I went through a box of goodies and I found this black pitcher that I painted with roses. Makes a great vase! I just put this on ebay.

Black Bird on a Green Urn

I made this sweet little black bird out of wool it is my own design, I set him on a pincushion made of vintage lace and buttons. The green urn has a band of black and gold glass beads. This stands at 7". How cute would it look in a garden setting, on a shelf or table.

Fabric Postcard

Here is a fabric Postcard that I made. I used stamps and I hand painted the bluebird and heart. I added vintage lace and buttons and a touch of glitter. It goes through the mail just fine, if you have your postal person hand cancel the stamp.

Sewing Machine Cover

This is a sewing machine cover that I made a few years back. I entered a contest using this pattern, Hoffman fabrics put it on. I won second place in the U.S. I used vintage items that I had, like the buttons and needle card packets and photo copied them onto fabric. Vintage buttons and lace for embelishment and the fabrics I used the back side of some and others I gave them a little tea bath so everything would have the same tone.

Old Chairs for a $1.00

I picked up these 2 ugly chairs for a dollar each...You cant pass up anything for a dollar...right. So I brought them home and gave them a good hosing down and my daughter gave them a great coat of paint as a finishing touch I painted roses on the front and back and seat...Now they are going to this wonderful outdoor market that I will be a part of later this month. Red Handled Vintage Ice Cream Scoop with Bird

I found this wonderful old ice cream scoop, how cute would this be out on your picnic table?? This little black bird had to have a taste! I embellished the ice cream pin cushion with vintage lace and old black and red buttons. There are 3 red glittered pins adorning this pin cushion. I will be putting this one on Etsy.

Hand made wool bird on pin cushion

Adorable salt & pepper shakers

So cute! They are little baby salt and pepper shakers they are only 3 inchs tall. I hand painted them soft green and blue, with a vine of pink roses and leaves.

Jamaican blue! Its the hip new color. Beautiful isn't it! I can feel the breeze though the air already! These are 6 inch high working wooden pepper grinder and salt shaker that I have hand painted. Where the two blues meet I have added glamorous pearly white glass seed beads to add a touch of pizazz! Great accessory for your dinning room table or kitchen.

my hand made pin cushion, yes I said pin cushion! This is my own one of a kind design. I and dyed wool this sunshine yellow, cut out my pattern and made this adorable birdie. I sewed on some wings, beak, and black glass seed bead eyes and TA DA! The bird sits on a pin cushion covered with beautiful vintage lace and a few scattered vintage shell buttons, a black and white cute little bow around his neck for a touch of whimsy. Robins egg blue bowl and salt shaker with daisies

How sweet is this bowl and matching salt shaker. The bowl is for decoration. It would make a great candy dish. or a place to put your keys and change in. I use one for my paperclips on my desk...I go through a lot of paper clips. The salt shaker would be so nice to take to work for lunch, or to have for a tea party.
