Just Chatting with you...and a touch of Aqua

One of my little sewing machines
These child size spoon and fork were in the junk bin...WHAT??!! They didn't see the charm and beauty?!
I picked up this wooden thing, it had an ugly picture in it, It was so easy to cover it with the Glacier Blue crackle med, when dry, I glazed over it with 3 or 4 colors to create age, then I painted the birds nest.

I got some exciting news in the mail. About 6 mo. ago I asked Create and Decorate mag. to look at my flickr to see if they would be interested in me being in their mag. She said she would like a couple of things and gave me a deadline. I missed it for one item...shoot!!! So, I wrote her and said, sorry, I received a letter today saying she still wanted it, and would give me an extra money...What??!! So, I got out my needle felting stuff...I felt kinda funny, when I realized (my Z works now.lol) what the problem was...remember when my kitty ripped my lip open...I had put away my felting (thats what I was doing at the time). Remember when you tell your kids to get back up on the proverbial horse....I didn't think it would be ME. So, I got a grip, got out my needles. sent the kitties to the other room and needle felted...it felt so good (no pun intended...at the time.lol) So, the promise of lots of money got me in gear and I "gotter done". Yea for me (pat on the back)
I got some more good news, but I'll share that tomorrow

Pink Saturday

Look at these sweet triplets that were in front of a "pink" house
Adorable "pink" toy stove at an antique shop
Perfectly "pink" flower
I finished my "pink" tags...and a few blue ones...but "pink" roses
And a few more, lots of texture
Be sure and check out other Pink Saturdays
over at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound

Keep the Gel away from the Computer!!

The other night I was finishing up my tags by giving them a coat of gel medium...oops, it fell on my key board...this isn't the thick stuff you have to scoop, its the more liquid kind...well, what do you do? I got out a paint brush and tried pushing as much of it out as I could. I finally got some warm water and poured over it and turned up upside down on paper towels. Paper towels are NOT a good idea...yes, you guessed it, they stuck, so I got more warm water and scrubbed it off. lol. I just knew my keyboard was going to have to become a craft project the next morning...so I tested a few keys. They all work...but one gets stuck...the Z ok, thats not to bad...until I reali_ed that I live in a city that has a _ in it. All my business log ins....have a _ in it. Kei_er this and Kei_er that. lol.

Back from Vacation

We hiked down to the beautiful Deschutes river, it was waaaaay down there. Dean caught some nice trout.
I finished my tags, but I'm going to wait until Pink Saturday to show you. Here is a sneak peek
Found this old box. I scrubbed in some aqua, it was to bright so I aged it.
Neat old bottle and door knob
How do you like this tatting???
Country Wings in Phoenix is the winner of my tag. Thank you sooo much!! It was fun to come home to such wonderful comments. We had such a good time. We rented a little condo on the east side of Sisters.

Happy Pink Saturday and a GIVEAWAY

First I thought I would show you this sweet birdie I made for a special friend to give to her aunt that has an Ice Cream Shoppe. I had this wonderful old scoop with a turned wooden handle.
I'm working on this fabric "tag" I glued the glass piece on, then I found this wonderful dragonfly..its actually a hair clip.
My hubby and I taking a little mini vacation to eastern oregon from Sunday to Thurs. I always like to take something to work on...So I started these pink tags...I used so many techniques and colors to give them a lot of depth. I think a rose or bird nest will finish them off.
For my
***G I V E - A - W A Y ***
I will pick a winner on Thurs. for this crackled blue tag with the rose.
Please leave me a message
Here is my question...
Are you enjoying your summer????

Thank you to Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for

A Little Nest

I'm adding this little tag/wall hanging on my Etsy. This could also be purchased to use on the front a journal book. I hand painted the little nest adding old buttons and lace. The copper tag is something I have had in my stash for y e a r s. I knew it would come in useful...someday.lol

Another Treasure

Went to Country Roads in Orange. I found this box with metal sides and bottom. Small enough to put in the suitcase!
Welllll, the Sugarland Concert didn't go so well. We got a great parking spot. But then we had to trudge up a steep gravel trail passing all the people that got there before us. Sitting our chairs down to save our place. Thankfully there was a large tree, a bunch of us sat in the dirt to stay in the shade...it was sooooo hot. Stacey had her ipod yatzee game so we played that for an hour and a half. Then when we got in, we saw an empty spot and proceeded to put down our chairs and some lady screamed at us that was HER spot. So we moved. Everyone was hot and on edge. Was suppose to start at 6:30, but no...it was 7:30. So we sat and sat and sat...it was still soooo hot. Everyone around us started drinking beer and beer and more beer. When the music started, everyone stood up (tired of sitting) guess what...tall people were standing in front of us...couldn't see a darn thing...we listened to the songs for an hour and decided to leave...it was still soooo hot and humid. Not a good experience.

Calif. Flea Market

I googled So. Cal flea markets before I left. I choose "A Street Faire" in Torrance. Stacey found a Viking vase that she wanted, got it for $15 which was a great deal. Towards the end I finally came across this old washboard laying on the ground behind a box. When I picked it up he said $3 I said "SOLD" Stacey had walked ahead of me. When she turned around to check on me, I raised it above my head and yelled "YAHOO" she giggled embarrassingly.LOL. Said the people next to her turned around too. Staceys response when I got up to her and showed her my treasure. "OH mom!! I'm so glad you found a piece of junk to take home" and she laaaaughed.. it was such a good time!
Have you seen Diane Knotts washboard?? Her husband cleaned hers up...think he'll do mine? lol
