Look, I Love Rust!

On a resent trip to a local antique mall Treasures and Junk, I fell in love with rust all over again
Love old Tonka trucks.

And the old pumps, I'm so glad they didn't end up in a city dump

I cant resist old glass jars..$1 each, no tax, yes, I bought a few.

My Day Off...

I mentioned earlier that I was a Food Network junkie...did you watch the show with these trucks??? These gals won all the challenges, but the lost in the end. We looked them up on line and found out where they were going to be...traffic was awful, but we struggled through it, and made it!!

We got there a little early, had a nice conversation with the lady you see standing there.

She LOVEs their food and come often, she said to try the handmade lemonade, if they had it...soooo good.

So here you go, we started out with hot delicious cheese filled won tons, cream cheese and jalapeno peppers...so good, we shared one with the gal that we made friends with

My meal...it was tiny, but packed full of flavor, lemongrass chicken with marinated carrots

This was their sandwich. banh mi. Stacey got tofu in hers, 12", we split it. The bread, I've never had anything so good and light, but a crispy top.

The lemonade was something else. It had mint and basil in it. Very light and refreshing.
Well worth our trip. All this for $9.
Oh, I must mention
we ate this outside
it was 88 degrees
warm and balmy
wow
I don't miss it being cold and rainy, or snowy
If you must, scroll back up and take a look at that sunshine
"sigh"
I LOVE So. Calif!!!!

Bobby Flay's MESA GRILL

The highlight of Las Vegas was going to Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill. I'm a food network junkie.

They brought out these yummie breads, the corn muffin had a kick to it, the raisin bread was the best I have ever had.

Then we had to deside what to have...remember...this was a BIG treat that we saved up for.

This is what I ordered, it was warm...not steaming hot like I was afraid of, because of the Habanero Chile. I LOVE Duck and this was the best ever.

Each sauce was so good/

Below is what Stacey ordered....

She was in heaven. Wonderful flavors

Now I want to go back!!!

A little more Calico

Oh this old man was wonderful. Sound asleep. I thought he was a prop, until he moved and I laughed and laughed.
Love this front porch, I even sat in the rocker for a few moments

I added a bit of aqua texture because the sky was washed out.
I love old wood
don't you.

Calico Ghost Town

One of the highlights of our trip to Vegas was stopping off at an old Ghost Town. We were pretty much the only ones there, It was so fun to imagine what it must have been like "back in the day" it was a silver mining town. This little birdie just sat there letting me take photos, I added a little texture to the photo, then cleaned it off the bird.
Makes me thankful we have the cars that we do, what a rough ride this had to have been.

I love how this photo turned out

Love the old chairs they had on the porch

Chuckers

Is this called a flat tire???

Flip Flops in Winter

Where else can you go at 8:00 in the morning
Sit outside in the warm sunshine,
wearing flip flops
and find out that it is 35 degrees
So. California, Yep, that was me this morning,
decided to have a little "me" time,
stopped in to Panera for a cuppa joe
sat outside in the warm sunshine with a sweater and flip flops,
I refuse to give up my flip flops!
~~~~~~~~~~
My husband found a cancerous sore on his shoulder. He had it removed
today, it was about the size of a nickel. His scar is going to be about 8" long.
Sparkly Day in Long Beach
Nothing like a little bunny running in the city
What a view
Sparkly Ocean and Sailboats
View from where we had lunch
Looking through the window where we had lunch
Yes, we found another farmers market.
Fresh Flowers
~
Love this bike that they attached to the wall
ART ~ the theater
My purchases of the day....we went to Torrance to a Antique Street Faire
we visited this last year while on vacation. We had NO idea that 6 mo. later we
would be living down here!!! What fun!
Large very round pitcher...do I see a pincushion in the making????
Then there was this vintage cup, the color of my shelves in my bedroom
so adorable
And then there is this old speckled cup
I picked up this doily...Its one of those old plastic ones.
They are hard to find, great for crafting, spritzing painting, or stenceling
Then this little piece of linen.
Hope you enjoyed going on this adventure with me today.
