I'm not sure how much journaling one can do in these tiny books

They are 1 x 1 1/2 inches...tenny tiny

I took some close ups so you can see all the detail.

I used gesso, two kinds of crackle medium

molding paste, absorbent ground

gel medium

watercolor paints, watercolor crayons

golden acrylics, inks, pens

all freehand painted

The plan is to get them listed on etsy.

I'm thinking $4 free shipping

I never know what to charge, I priced my pincushions to high,

I will be dropping the price, soon

time...I need more time!!

Paper Flowers

Yep, I bought another hat at the Long Beach Flea Market. It fit perfectly...now I'm all set for the summer sun

I've been trying out some of my flowers, I thought this was fun
Now for this picture...3 pillows and a blanket...what more could
a kitty want.

Little Mini Books
I'm getting started. I've been asked to sell some of my mini books. So I set up this little work station on my lap desk. They're all preped...


Then there is this sweet very yellow stand...Picked it up at the Long Beach Flea Market...saw it first thing when we got there...they wanted $30. We just got there so I wasnt about to buy it then, so on the way out it was still there, we offered $20 and she said ok...whoo hoo! I've been looking for
unique storage for all my crafts...now to figure out what to put on it.

I wanted to try a little free motion stitching. I used a tan thread, not a good idea, the design

didn't show up, so I added a bit of paint...would have been easier to paint first, then stitch?

Love Flea Markets

The rain quit Sunday morning so Stacey and I headed to the Long Beach Flea Market.

The sun was warm but the wind was cold

We get updated twitters where they are going to be...

Taco Truck. They were shown on the food network.

Tofu Tacos...sooooo goooood

Cell phones...where would we be without them...

They were to show up in Pamona at 6...they kept updating us

as to their whereabouts...stuck on the 10. They didnt show up until 8

We were getting a bit hungry!!

That is three tiny tacos with a fusion flavor of asian and mexican

Soo good and messy!

That was our evening...chasing down the truck as it went around corners looking

for a place to park. Fun fun fun

Fabric and Paper

Paper on Paper or Paper on Fabric or Fabric on Paper

I'm having fun mixing paper and fabric.
The bird cage was underneath tissue paper, then I did a wash of paint then ink.
The rose was also paper that was underneath, ink brought out the leaves

The nest was just painted on top
I just learned how to add paper fabric, new to me...I couldn't resist
seeing how pen, inks, paint worked...fun!!

Then on the flip side is adding fabric to paper...



A little stiffer and lots of texture

I painted the rose on canvas paper that was preped with digital ground

On the Way to the Fabric Store...

So I was on my way to JoAnns to pick up some muslin and I came across a Goodwill. So I stopped in...I thought I would check the skirt section... Here are my treasures...

This is a wonderful faded blue and white pinstripe with a great piece of lace...and the underskirt is muslin...wonderful!!!

This is a huge skirt that was never finished. It has three sections of the best design with all those zigzags. I cant wait to use these in my "class" that I'm taking!

I think I'll do some coffee dying this weekend..a little more "aging" never hurt anything!

What do you do when you're sick

I have my brand new laptop...I sat in bed with a box of tissues...and blog hopped. Oh what fun I had. Then I came across Pam Garrisons blog. I missed her class at Jenny Dohs, but they opened
up a new class in Malibu...oh how I want to go. Then I came across Danitas class...I had to sign up. I love learning new things and then making it my own...so we'll see where this takes me.

I'm back on my feet, the sun is out, class is paid for...I'm ready for some crafting!

I'm kinda out of it

Thought I would pop in and let you all know that a head cold is NOT fun. The weather here has been going from the 60's to the 90's and back down again and it finally got me. I feel like I have cotton for a brain...but a new discovery...at the dollar store they carry Vick's Tissues, I'm in love with them, and they are so soft!
I'll be back soon when the "cotton" goes away

Cute Birds

I fell in love with these birds from Home Goods...I don't know about you, but when I bring something like this home...I have to fix it

I worked on their eyes, made them bigger and added highlights

I added yellow to their beeks and feet

I highlighted some of the designs,

shaded between their wings and feathers

I love how it turned out

93 degrees....beautiful! We had so much fun visiting unique little shops we forgot to leave
for home by 2:30-3:00. It was 4:00, we knew we would be in trouble...
Yes, we are in the freeway traffic on the right!!!
Took us a little while to get home

aaaah Laguna Beach

I finally have some birdies ready for selling. I listed my first one on Etsy Its been over a year since I've made any!
I've been looking for a summer hat for two weeks. I finally found one that fit in a little boutique in Laguna Beach. I wore it all day today...felt quite stylish.heeehee. I brought it home and layed one of my fabric flowers on it, ummm I might play around with a new band and flower.

84 degrees, breeze, water is freezing. Beautiful
