Becca of Bluebirds androses
has a picture on her blog of an old schooner. I thought it was the one I painted this from, must be from the same time period. Anyway, I painted this with oil paints while I was pregnant and bored, about 27 years ago. I gave it to my husbands boss at the time. The family gave it back after he passed away.
Sweet little twosome here, they also are from the Somerset Mag article...I feel like I'm "name dropping" every time I say it. lol!! Check this out on my Ebay
Look at the beautiful handle..I haven't been able to tell what letter it is. From the tip of the pink birdies tail to the tip of the handle its a whopping 10" long. The one on the right is a pale mint green.
If you have a chance, my niece, Lindsey just start her own blog, she wants to open up a shop...go check out the the barn that will be transformed. I'm sure she would like for you to stop by and say Hi and welcome her to the land of bloggin.
congrats on your article in somerset! the birds are so sweet perched upon the lovely spoon!!!
ReplyDeleteThe letter sort of looks like an "H". It's a lovely spoon and has a cute little "inhabitant". ;-)

You are so talented!!! I also think the letter on the spoon is an H.
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe it will make your ironing days much brighter to look down and see yummy shabby chic fabric, or what ever fabric you feel inspired by! You should get in touch with Victoria about getting one made for you, she is a wonderful seamstress and such a delight...

I received one of your birdie spoons as a belated Christmas present. You can't even begin to imagine how much I have wanted one of these lovelies. It's pink too, my favorite color! It is sitting on my mantle right where I can see it every day. LOVE IT!!!!

Howdy! We "met up" with Lindsey last week...what a small blog world this is! Her site is fantastic and the barn is beautiful. We really hope she opens a store there.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the So. Cal places to hit, our favorite was the big monthly show in Pasadena for great finds. The size was a bit overwhelming, but definitely a great show. The L.B. show is the 3rd Saturday of every month. You can find more details at www.longbeachantiquemarket.com
