Favorite Swimming hole

The Little Northfork...I've been coming here since I was a little girl. It has been a favorite swimming hole
It was sooo cold (we didn't even try to go in!!) Even the dogs down the way couldn't stay in very long.
See this bridge... use to jump off it back in the day...to many drunken accidents so they put a stop to it. You had to be in the right spot where it was the deepest. but the big guys could still touch bottom when they jumped
These guys were a riot!!! Grown men can really holler when they first jump in the freezing water!! lol
Dean went fishing, I played around with my watercolors...Summer is really here. This is about an hour from where we live....N I C E!!

  1. I just love your birdie pin cushions? Do you do custom pieces? I have a new studio that is being built and I would love to have one of your creations to perch! Looking forward to hearing from you.

  3. I know where that is! My hubby is a paramedic and spends quite a bit of time up there in the summer time - not by choice!!

It is a fun place to fish however!

I heard the water is very cold still, with all the snow we had it doesnt surprise me!

    Have a good Thursday,

  4. Hi Laurie -
The North Fork reminds me of the spot on the Pudding River, about a mile from home, where I used to swim as a child. Many still swim there. Our county is making a lovely parking picnic area there this summer. What a wonderful place it will be. My grandchildren love to go there. That makes it even more special!
