Stacey and I had the best time!! Had lunch then to antique shops. She found a Viking Vase that she collects..I'll get a picture soon. Late in the afternoon I went to an Alpaca farm. I talked to the gal for a very long time. I bought some raw Alpaca fibers. She told me how to clean and dye it.So guess what I've been playing with!!! Dying is the most fun!!! Here is what I made today
I dyed the fibers red, and a batch of green. The brown is from a brown Alpaca...how fun is this!!! I flattened a spot on the bottom so It would sit and not roll around. I listed this on Ebay
You're so clever! ♥ Diane

ReplyDeleteOh.. what you dont come up with Missy! lol You amaze me!
ReplyDeleteHi Laurie, I am glad that you found me on blogger. I am in Oregon as well, near Mt. Hood. I bought my Duncan carder from him almost 3 years ago. He lives in Damascus and I just called him directly and picked it up. I do know that he does attend a bunch of shows. Black Sheep is in Eugene sometime in June or July and then Flock and Fiber is in Sept. at the Clackamas county fairgrounds and he usually does attend both. He used to have an informational website but I am not finding it online anymore. I will go through my stuff and get back to you with a phone number for him. I really love my carder and use it all the time. Feel free to contact me directly at jen@hanksinthehood.com. I will be back in touch with his phone number. Thanks Laurie, Jen
