Used Vintage Drum Carder
What a Sunday I had...I spent a good part of Sat. look for a used drum carder...they are very hard to find. A gal from Sisters emailed me and said she just found one for me...then she emailed me and said her sister wanted it...So then I put an ad on Craigslist saying I wanted one...
Half and hour later I got an email from a gal that lives 30 min. from me in Stayton...she sent me a photo...It was old, used, a bit rough...and I loved it!!! It spoke to my heart. She sold it to me for $40. I'm in love with my new old toy from the 70's. She also gave me some fiber...I've been dying PINK fibers. Oh...the things I will be making now!!!
I will take better pictures later...but I had to share these with you right now.
Great deal & unbelievably fast! What's the difference between the hand carders & your new toy??? ☺ Diane
ReplyDeleteHow neat! I really think anything is possible on the net! I cannot WAIT to see what wonderful pink things you make!!!!

I didn't know what a carder was until I saw your pictures...how very interesting!
ReplyDeleteI just read an article about using Kool Aid to dye wool, felt, etc. The article said it doesn't work on cotton; but, wow, what colors a person could get, eh? Tropical Punch...haha.
What a nice Sunday you had. Gorgeous fiber. And the sun was shining. What more could a gal ask for. Have a great Monday!! Sharon
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be all set pretty soon, huh? Love this machine- is it non-mechanical? Good find :-)
ReplyDeleteOH MY! I can't wait to see what your imagination comes up with! You amaze me!
ReplyDeleteI'm just so impressed with all the creative work you've done with fibers
ReplyDeleteLove that Craigslist! Soglad you got your carder - the sky's the limit now! ~Adrienne~
