Just a reminder that this birdie in the teacup is on my Ebay for just a short time.
Absorbent Ground... it allows me to paint with watercolors on any surface. Watercolors need something to sink into, not like acrylics that just sit on top of a surface. So this Ground is perfect. I did a little research on it, seems like it works best if your surface is coated with gesso first. I used Goldens Molding paste on these too, to add a little more texture...wouldn't want anything looking to flat.lol.
Oh, how cute! I LOVE the mini easel! I used mine in my post that was published today, too! Hee hee! I love your work, Laurie! :)

ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely adorable: charming, wistful... without being sickly cute (I hate cute, lol). I love your header, and the icing on the cake for me was your advice on absorbent ground. I have had a pot for 2 years, and couldn't remember what I bought it FOR! Someone did say online it's good for prepping thin papers (eg: for journals) and of course I was trying with acrylics - and not impressed with the result.
ReplyDeleteSo now I know why - and I'm so grateful! Thank you for posting this. http://www.sainsburys.com/groceries/index.jsp?bmUID=1246172637672
