Birdie, Ribbons, Sea Glass, Award..

This is my latest little birdie, It is just a tiny thing. I found this sweet little cup for it to perch on.
Look how wonderful it looks next to the sea glass...sea foam ... The cup has a hint of color on the bottom
Then I discovered this sweet cluster of pink flowers in my goodie box and it was a perfect match to the ribbon
While making this pincushion I wanted to add a little something extra when I came across this hand made lace hankie. I snipped off the corner and added it for a touch of elegance.
I am feeling much better today!!! Finally! Then I received two wonderful gifts!! TWO
The first one was this sweet blogging friends award. Thank you Vicki!!
Here are the rules:
1. Use the Twinks Bank icon (to the right of the page)
2. Nominate 5 other people only
3. Four (4) nominees have to be dedicated followers of your blog
4. One (1) has to be someone new to your blog and live in another part of the world.
5. You must link back to whoever gave you the award.
This one easy... Vickie C,Allison, Stephanie,Colleen
and the newest friend is Pat...
Which leads me into my second gift. Its amazing what a brown box can hold, first there was the most beautiful mermaid tear scissor fob made with the most fabulous sea foam green glass beads and a mermaid tear hanging on the bottom. On the back of the card is a story about mermaid tears. Its wonderful

Oh dear my pictures are out of order... anyway, the bottom picture shows a wonderful heart shape pouch, when I picked it up I could tell there was something in it...I hated to...but I had to...
I cut a slit in the back and look what tumbled out...More mermaid tears....Have I mentioned how I LOVE these!! Oh but there's more!!! Pat dyes the most beautiful RIBBON!!! Look at all the luscious color...Oh my little birds are going to be in heaven when I dress them in the ribbons!!
Heres the sweet pouch that held my mermaid tears
I'm leaving in the morning for a few days of R & R with my hubbs of 36 years...We're going to beautiful Eastern Oregon. I will take pictures. My plan is to put on a giveaway in the morning ...you know...so you wont forget me.lol.

Two Posts in one day!

vintage flower and glass buttons
This is such an unusal sparkly vintage glass beaded leaf.
Aged Crackle finish

Bracket
Beaded Tassel
We all thought the Vegemite tasted like condensed thick soy sauce.
What do you think we have that the Aussies dont?
Here is my latest creation. I LOVE it. I painted the cone then put a 2 step crackle med. on it, when dry I rubbed it with some metallic black, and couple of golds. Instead of trim around the top I painted it with the same black and added gold dots.
I found this gorgous black beaded tassel. I made a copy of a vintage calling card. I added 3 beautiful vintage glass buttons. Not very valentinie (is that a word?) How about I call it "Paris Chic" Please let me know what you think...now I've got to go get it put on Ebay...
It is sooooo nice having my computer back!!

2008 Birdie!!

Well, we made it!! 2008...I just had to type it for the 1st time this year. My first birdie for the new year! I had the worse time trying to come up with a good background...still not real happy , I don't think it shows the glass off very well. I'll be putting this on ebay today.

This should prove to be an interesting year for me...I have been contacted by Linda Walsh Originals to be a part of her 100 best blogs, and also Olde Crows Crafting Group...now I need to figure out how to put their banner on my blog.lol.

I cant wait to see my birdies in Somerset "Life" in April, I'm thinking I will need to buy a few extra copies to send to my Aussie friends!!

My daughter will be 26 in March. When did that happen!!! It has been a wonderful 26 years!

It will be so fun to see every ones crafts, I love seeing photos of the goodies found at thrift shops, garage sales, and estate sales and then giving them new life.

I look forward to meeting new blogging gals!
I am sitting here watching the Rose Parade, it brings back such memories, we lived a couple blocks down Orange Grove, the floats are amazing!

My hubby and daughter and I are planning a road trip to Pasadena Ca this spring...Dean hasn't been back since we left...11 years, he grew up there, I know a LOT has changed, I think it will be hard on him...the plan is for him to meet up with some old friends...Stacey and I just plan on traveling around and taking a lot of photos...She lived in Laguna Beach for a year as a nanny, I have never seen the area, so she wants to show me.

It should be a verrrrrry interesting year...(maybe I should change my banner...its a bit old!)

Birdies and Teacups for ebay

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfrppZ50QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQrdZ0QQsassZgstuff101

I couldnt have a TEA PARTY! All these Birdies flew into town and took over my cups!!lol
I've been busy...I have made a few birdies in teacups, this little cream colored bird was perfect for this tiny cup and saucer that just shouted out AUTUMN. The colors are so warm. I went through my stash of buttons and found this great old button and old velvet leaves. I added some vintage pearls and my sparkly topped pins.
The middle tea cup is trimmed in a pretty purple color. I added some vintage millinery flowers and spritzed it all with my glimmer mist. The top is a beautiful vintage cup and saucer that I added a soft pink bird that is joyously sing. I dyed the sprig of berrys to match the flowers on the cup. One of these days I will have to learn how to show a picture and have what it is under it. I thought I could do it, but no...I got all the pictures and then all the writing here at the bottom...can anyone help??? Natasha??? (she helps me with all my blogging issues!) Well, check these all out on my ebay you're interested. Thanks!!
