My Creativity is BACK!! Whoohoo

This is another heavy chip board. I only a 3 left and I cant find them in the stores any more.
I didn't wax this on. I didn't know what it would do to the Pearl paint and the crackle med.
I am having so much fun. Again, I painted both sides. I used Goldens Iridescent Pearl on both sides. The side with the heart has some lovely crackles, the roses are painted on heavy textured
medium. I used washes of Golden Acrylics and watercolor crayon. It is finished with a Satin Varnish. I am listing this on my Etsy.

Thank you

Update.
It sold
I've got another in the works.

New Birdies, Heart, Roses

I took one of those 6" precut heavy chip board from Micheals. After Gessoing both sides then
adding a layer of med. and another coat of Gesso I then using Golden Fluid Acrylics like watercolors, I painted this design...am I jumping the gun a bit?? I am soooo ready for spring,
How sweet would this be for a Valentine decoration?? The polka dots are painted using Pearl paint. I added more layers using watercolor crayons.
I couldn't leave the other side plain...of course not, I painted these 3 roses, adding the pearl
polk-a-dots. To finish it off, I coated each side with bees wax
I'm listing this on my Etsy

My weekend was nice and quiet, it was so nice to get my paints out and play
with colors.

Sketchbook pages

Amber with her sweet baby Peightynn

While I was riding in the car I pulled out my sketchbook to see what would happen,
here a couple of pages

Balance

Isn't life about balance. After spending part of our day at the hospital with Amber and her baby, we went to Stayton, a nearby town, to spend the evening with Ambers other sister and family, After the tears and heavy conversation, they pull out their Wii. I have never seen what it was...the Wii.
Wow, we laughed and laughed, we played tennis (I am very good at serving, lol) we bowled, air hocky, golf, next thing we knew it was 1:30 AM!!! It was so late, I spent the night with Stacey, and slept until 11:30 AM wow, I cant remember the last time that happened.
Here is what information we were given on baby Peightynn, she has CDG, the blood work is to find out what catagory she falls in, so they will know what to expect. Here is the link to this extremely rare syndrome. http://www.cdgs.com/_about.html

Bad News

Update
*****************
Poor baby Peightynn, Stacey and I made the trip to Doernbechers Children Hospital
Momma has a DNA gene, the dad (who isn't in the picture) has this same DNA
the combination is lethal. She is one in 50,000 who has this.
There is only one Dr in the US that has studied this problem.
It will be a couple of weeks of waiting before we find out
exactly what catagory she is in. She has a chance of living
a year or maybe 3. She is almost 6 mo.
Amber, Peightynns mommie is only 27. She has the
support of her 2 sisters and a few friends. It's really rough right now.
Thank you for your wonderful comments.

It was a GOOD day.

Went to my business Christmas Party. Everyone gets a ticket when we enter for a chance
to win a prize. Right off the bat I won this wonderful Cuisinart grill.

This hanging plant didn't survive the freezing weather...It was tuckered out, but still had pretty color.

Funk, not funky

This is a watercolor painting I did last year...I just love it

Its been strange, I just haven't had it in me to do any creating. I didn't think to much about it. I've been so busy turning over apts, it wears me out...that doesn't usually stop me. I feel like the battery in the Energizer Bunny finally went out. I visited this blog (http://frenchgeneral.blogspot.com/)
..and low and behold, there is a name for it...Funk...I'm in a funk and I don't think I'm the only one. I've decided not to beat myself up about it and just take a little break and take it easy.
I think I'll just play with my photos, I enjoy it, I hope you do to.

Egg Nog Cheesecake!!

Stacey and I decided we would make our own cheesecake...the way WE want it to taste. First, when you don't like graham cracker crust...what do you use? We chose "Mothers Oatmeal Cookies"....perfect! Then on to the filling. We both love vanilla, and orange...so we put in the vanilla in....THEN...Grand Marnier....(I bought one of those little tiny bottles...$4.00!!! ouch)
makes up for the good deal I got on the Trophy, which was also $4.00. lol.
We grated some lemon peel, added the eggs and egg nog...oh my goodness is it ever good!!!

Tickled Pink Saturday

Thank you to Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for hosting Pink Saturday. I am going to start off
with my most favorite decoration...I painted these snowmen a few years ago...it is HUGE
Then there is this...my latest Goodwill purchase. I have wanted an old silver trophy for oh so long.

It was won for "Side Saddle" and its from 1928. I am just so excited...I braved the freezing temps to go out and gather some greens and berries
Then there is this!! My little snowman is in the Feb. issue of Create and Decorate.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I think we are going to be stuck. They say we're going to have freezing rain for the entire weekend. Yuck!

Another Rose

I've been having a lot of work to do in my "day job" so I haven't had time to do much crafting.
But in the evening I can curl up in my chair and play with my photos. This is another frozen rose.
This is my original photograph.
Isn't it amazing how much the background can be changed.

Winner and Frozen Rose

It is soooo cold. We don't get temperatures like this. Its 10 last night and 23 during the day. Some of the apt. complexes near by are having pipes burst and ceiling fall in on the tenants. We've only had one tenants heater quit working...but we have space heaters on stand by.
I HAD to go out into the cold and what did I see...beautiful frozen roses. Very transparent.
Of course I had to play around with one. Who would have thought that a dead frozen rose could be so pretty.

The winner of my giveway is Lisa. She has the cutest blog. She can be found here...
