Pink Saturday

The pincushion above is listed on my EBAY. I listed it for 9.99
I aged this photo just a bit, I wanted the Pink pitcher to stand out.
I stacked some of my pink cups
Then I added a Gaussian Blur to soften
Now, this one was fun. This is the pincushion I just finished for my friend...
Then this is what it looks like "Through the Viewfinder" of my little old camera
I went to a darling Christmas Bazaar at the Mission Mill today,
I ran into some old friends, they keep telling me they stalk my blog. I tell
them "thats creepy" and they need to start their own blogs. lol.
It was nice to see you Verna and Carol
Then I proceeded to come home, my foot caught on our curb
and I went flying...scraping and bruising both knees and the palm of my
hand...MAN IT HURTS!
How is it you can scrape all the skin off your knees, and not tear a hole in your jeans??
So, I'm going to get my pj's on and let my husband pamper me a bit.

I want to thank Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting this every week.

Fun Things

Ummmm. Very few people are commenting... I wasn't going to say anything...then I thought,
well, I'll bring it up. Are you tired of seeing my photos? I am so wrapped up in this online
class that I'm taking from Susan Tuttle that I just want to share what I'm doing.

This one is one of my TtV's see how it is distorted...thats what its all about.lol.
I just finished another birdie pincushion for a friend of mine
I'll show it tomorrow.
Today was so yucky outside I decided to look around the house to see what need to be
photographed.

Old Bird Bath

How neat is this old birdbath I found as I was driving around one day.
I put a spotlight on the birdbath.

Photo-manipulation

I haven't had a chance to do any hands on crafting lately...but I did make this for Staceys computer. I'm learning to layer...and to make transparent letters. I think it turned out really neat. Both of the pictures Stacey took on our trip to Calif. this summer

What I saw through my Camera today

My mom use to own a Tole Painting shop. It was so beautiful. Slowly my dad is dismantling all
the wonderful outdoor decor. I thought I better start taking some photos before it is destroyed.
This is a light fixture that he made. It use to be so beautiful at night.
I thought I would play around with it in photoshop just a bit. It is so nice to know that I have the original picture so I can mess around with a copy. I tell you...what did we do before digital cameras.lol
A little path to their front yard
I love how this old post looks

More TtV's

I took this on up close. I had a little trouble getting it straight. Its so dark and gloomy here, I had to put a light next to it. Turned out interesting..Then there is my bird, I wanted to see how this would turn out...not great..a bit blurry. You have to hold both cameras and then figure out how far away the digi camera should be...These are all cropped.

This sweet birdie is going on Ebay in just a bit. I love the old silver look.

Ttv!! Through the Viewfinder

Have you ever done anything new and you get so excited you you can hardly stand it. Then you think " I REALLY need to share this! Well, this happened to me! This isn't the BEST job I could have done...but it is my first...and I absolutely love how it turned out...I purchased another vintage camera for $1...yep! a whole DOLLAR!! Well, looking through it, it was realllll grainy...perfectly grainy! If I had wanted it to be clean and pristine I would have been so unhappy. But as it turned out...Its fantastic! I took more but I need to crop them.
Do you like it? I used my digi camera and took it through the old camera...I'm thrilled!!

Ornaments

I wanted these to have a soft vintage look. They have a bit of a beige background that was layered
with a wash of white and splatters of brown and white.
Then there are these tiny guys. I painted 3 roses on each with enamel paints
These where already frosted, but had a few marks on them, I took a thinned white paint on a crumpled damp paper towel and went over it lightly which gave it snowy look.
These too, have 3 roses on each.

My table is set

I took what little I had left to Deepwood today. Martha from Vintage Trifles helped me set up. I borrowed the large metal tree and ornament holder from her. I found some little tiny ornaments at the thrift store today...so I'm busy painting roses on them...I still have one more day that I can paint..

A few more ornaments

First I wanted to show you this windmill that my dad built years ago. It was a landmark. I am making a point to be more aware of what is around me. You know how you see something so often that you forget its even there. Thats how this was.
I was given a box of unpainted porcelain ornaments....so I finished a few more last night
I finished them off with a nice coat of varnish and while it is wet I sprinkle glitter all over them.
This is the last of them. I deliver all my goodies to Deepwood tomorrow. My last show of the year. Then it's time to fill my Etsy and Ebay back up.

Mailboxes

When I saw these mailboxes I just loved them...but the red newspaper box didn't fit in...
But when you tweek it and put it all in sepia tones, it fits right in.

New Hobby

Ttv: " Through the view finder" I've been googling Ttv, it is fascinating. I went to a camera shop here in town that deals in old cameras, so we went outside and to check out a few old cameras
No, the above picture wasn't taken this way. I just thought It turned out to be a neat picture.
Here is what I came away with...now I have to make a contraption to block out the light...my plan is to try it out this weekend.
Today is opening day of the bazaar that I'm in.
I needed to take a little break from crafting
next week I plan to jump back in.
I'll have a sneek peek tomorrow

What I found on Wednesday

Fall is here, but look what I found when I went out for a drive, I found a single rose bush with beautiful roses.
I found these in the back of our garage, I was glad I found them. I took them to the bazaar that I have been a part of for 15 years. If anyone is around the Silverton area. Please stop in at "The Silverton Friends Homespun Christmas Bazaar" after all these years I was asked by the head coordinator to be a part of their team. I'm really excited about that! My house looks empty, I work all year making things to take to this sale. I didn't paint on a sled this year...I'll look through my photos and see if I have a picture... But I love painting on these old shovels
As I was driving around I saw this darling barn...it is so small I'm thinking it is a childs playhouse. But I laughed when I got home and opened this picture...It might be hard for you to see...but on the right side near the line of trees are three deer. I didn't even see them so it was a fun surprise.

Tulips

I started out with this sweet bucket of tulips. Fisherman's Wharf in SF
I softened, then changed the color to pink, added a bit of a light spot...what do you think?

First Photoshop Elements Project

It took about 1 1/2 hours of driving around looking for an old truck.
The project was to turn it in to a very old vintage picture. I maybe got the edges a bit dark, but I still like how it turned out. I'm taking an online workshop with Susan Tuttle http://ilkasattic.blogspot.com/.
Its fabulous. I learn best with videos and someone I can ask questions.

PEARS

What happened at your house Halloween night???
When we went for our drive the other day,
we stopped at an outdoor produce stand.
We brought
home these beautiful red pears. I suggested that we put them
outside, our deck is surrounded by a fence. They'll be fine...I said..
ummm, Dean went outside this morning and this is what he found.
Now what creature came in the middle of the night and had a snack???

So, what does one do with pears that have been nibbled on...why, you turn them around and take a picture so they can be painted...of course.

Amazing the power of words. I was hurt yesterday by someone's words, and today
I was uplifted by words. Thank you for your comments.
I love the words I read here today.
Thank you Sherry
