Check this Out

Years ago we had some friends that had a couple of sons. We were on vacation with them, I remember the sweet southern boys playing with Stacey when she was around 4. We have since
lost contact with them. But, I facebooked them one day... One son, Joby Ogwyn, was on facebook. When I realized this was the same Joby...I had just watched him on a National Geographic Adventure show...I didn't make the connection at the time... Look what this guy is doing now...(long intro, but worth waiting for) Google: Wingman Joby Ogwyn. I tried to link it, but I couldn't,
Its on youtube.

When he summited Everest in 1999, he was the youngest American to ever scale its legendary routes; he's also the youngest mountaineer in history to ascend the Seven Summits (the highest peak on each continent).

And, in 2005, Ogwyn made history by smashing the speed ascent record of an 8,000 metre peak: the Tibetan peak, Cho Oyo, demolishing the previous record by nearly 2.5 hours.

Alphabe-Thursday/Friday

This blog is new to me. I have decided to join in the fun. Please check out this blog http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/ She is a wonderful writer. I’ll be adding my blog to her Mr. Linky. I know I said I wouldn’t be back until Pink Saturday, but I found this blog and I wanted to join in the fun. I need some fun. Another blogger mentioned this Live Writer…so I signed up and I’m giving it a try. So, for my first letter…A… is for my longest best friend. Her name is Aletha…I love her name, always have.. it is so unique…she is so unique, and she is always there for me. We are suppose to write about the first thing that pops into our mind…A the perfect letter and word for my first Thursday…Alphabe-Thursday…Please come join me in the fun.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

My dad had the mildest stroke there is. His speech is slurred. They gave him some drugs and blood thinner and sent him home the same day as the stroke. Its been one day and what does the man do
drives across town to Costco to get laundry soap...mind you, there is a grocery store a mile down the road...but no, he endangers himself and everyone around him by driving when he told my mom "I feel kinda funny, not quite myself". I talked to my mom today, she doesn't remember anything, absolutely nothing. I had a good cry the night it happened, came home and have been reading the comments you, my blogging friends, have left me. I am touched beyond words. I knew this blogging was special, but until you really need it, you just don't know. Thank you so much. It makes me
feel so much better...really, I treasure each and every one of you! I'll be back for Pink Saturday
until then...I love you all!!

Not Good

Going to be taking a little bit of a blogging break, my dad had a stroke today. He went in to have a cast removed off his wrist and it happened while he was there. I will mention. I am not close to my dad, he has chosen not to speak to me for the last 11 years. It is my mom I'm worried about right now. She is blind, and a diabetic, had a massive heart attach a few years ago. She is so fragile. My dad has verbally and mentally abused her for 61 years and yet she wants to be by his side. This is
hard for me.

We've got some adjusting to do...our daughter was just laid off her job.

Watercolor Tweeked

I did this years ago, so I pulled it out, took a picture and started fooling around with layers.
I lost a bit of the vibrancy but it was fun. Can you see some script in the vase, then grunge
around the edges.

Zebra Print Painted Wall

It all started with a blank wall. I drew on a zebra print
Then I called in the troops to start filling in the X marked areas.
Stacey, Katlyn and I painted this in 3 hours, not bad.
This room belongs to this 17 year old Katlyn
This is the first coat
Finished room, I wanted you to get a visual as to how large we made this, by showing it next to the door.. Katlyn was thrilled.

A Good Laugh

Here it is!
Remember these wonderful textures that I said came from an old truck....
I may have exaggerated just a bit. lol. Heres the pickup. Its hard to see the colors, it was almost dark, but I just had to show you this.

Start Over

Is it possible to start the new year over again??? I got a call yesterday saying I could get in to the dentist this morning. Great. I showed up at 9 am. He stuck me with "THE" needle, in my jaw. I waited the allotted time...and he started drilling...WOWZER! he hit a nerve...so, more of "THE needle...this went on for half an hour, he never could deaden the nerve!!! I told him just "DO IT" I wanted to get it behind me. The sweet little helper gal...was working on my temp. crown....It went flying across the room and out the door. Then she cracked it and had to start all over...then I was told there was a good chance I'll have to have a root canel. I have so many holes poked in my gum It is soooo sore. When I got home I thought it might be a good idea to take a pain pill. Well, that just turns me into mush, and I had book work to do... I enlisted the help of my husband. It actually went very well. I was able to keep him on track with only a couple minor mistakes.

Then it was time to rest. My sweet kitty came and laid on my tummy. I got to laughing, he snored, sneezed, wheezed, squeeked...tummy grummbled, stretched, scratched, nuzzled, rolled, scooted. My goodness, why couldn't he just lay there.lol

Paris Style Macaroons

There is this blog I have been following for years and years. Actually, when I first went on Ebay to start selling things, it was a dream of mine to take Stacey and go to Paris...so I was following this wonderful blog called Paris Breakfast http://parisbreakfasts.blogspot.com/. She is also a watercolor artist. She paints these beautiful yummy looking macaroons. She makes them look soooo good.
So...todays trip to Portland...lookie at what I found...so I had to purchase some...you know,
to take photos so I can try to paint them...yes, of course, thats why I had to purchase them (as I told my husband.lol)
Look how wonderful this set up is...ready to paint. yep...to paint, Oh, I've taken the photos, I guess I don't really need the macaroons any more....right?! So it was time to taste one...
oh! Which one do I choose??? The PINK one...Yellow? White...oh! CHOCOLATE!
So, my tea was still hot, so a little treat was in order. I pulled them apart like an Oreo ( I dont know how to eat them!!) The filling was good (you know how you always need to taste the filling!!) I sunk my teeth (being very carful of my sore tooth) into this morsel...hhemm...
another bit...yuck!! really! NOT GOOD LOL!! and they cost a small fortune. I guess I'll have to wait until I get to Paris to find a good one!!

I thought I would try a "brush" around the edge and I used my new Pen to write Tea Time
***********
What would my blog be, without a little update about Peighton,
first let me say, this is like 3rd hand, and through texting, so it may not
be absolutely correct.
Her white blood cells are pretty much non existent
they are doing more blood work, if the red blood cells are high
she has an infection, if they count is really low she might be
bleeding internally. Shes had two surgeries to install a
feeding tube into her little tummy.
She turned 6 mo. on Jan. 1
I do want to send out a Thank you to all that
have sent your well wishes and prayers for the little sweetie.

I Don't like Roller Coasters!!

Peightynn
***************
So today had its ups and downs...I called the dentist first thing...she said "can't get you in until a week from Wed." I asked if I came in and just sat there, would they try to work me in. She said yes...so at 2:30 (thats when she suggested I come in) I went in...by this time I had an earache a headache, my tooth hurt and I was feeling really crummmmie.
They took a quick little ex-ray...he came in, studied it...said, we'll make an appointment for you to come in and have a crown put on. WHAT??!! What about the huge crater...what about.... he said, everything is fine he filed down a jagged edge...What??!! I can't be fine...I've been dreading going in, and you are just going to send me on my way??? What??!! So, I went out, made my appointment for Feb. as I'm walking out the door...I noticed my ear didn't hurt. I got the car...I noticed my tooth didn't hurt...I got home and I didn't have a headache...I had worked myself into such a state that I hurt all over...I'm fine now...lol. jeez!! There wasn't even a hole where the filling fell out. Amazing what our minds can do to our bodies.

Then, just a bit ago we got the news that baby Peightynn is on her way back to Doernbechers Hospital. She has a really hight temp. and really bad diaper rash...

I do hope your day was a lot calmer then mind!!!
