I had to!!

Welcome to my wannabe new old home. I had a few hours off today, my desire...to go back and
visit this old home again. This time there was a guy there that was seriously thinking about
purchasing it to refurbish it back to how it once was...

This is a view of the back side of the home. The steps were fall through steps, but that didn't
stop us. He had a key and invited us in to take a look around. It was pretty well stripped and they had tiled the floor, but the built in cabinetry was spectacular. They painted the rooms the most awful garish colors

This is the left side of the front of the house, It has a beautiful curved brick staircase going up to one of the bedrooms

Another picture of the back, I was trying to get the whole thing in the photo.

There was one original light fixture left, It is so beautiful. I took more pictures, I'll show you little doors and other goodies tomorrow.

Here is the scoop. The asking price is a meir 6 million. 1 1/2 acres. The guy said it would cost about a million to fix it up...but the problem is, it is an historical home, which causes all kinds of problem. Hope you enjoy a piece of my tour

Have you ever??

Have you ever been driving down a road, you see a FOR SALE sign, you look down the driverway as you are driving by, you go down the street, make a u turn...go back to the house...

And take pictures. I didn't get a picture of the whole house, and I don't know if I could ever find it again. It is a beautiful OLD manson up in the hills of Pasadena. It was so old and empty.

Pink Saturday.

I'm a little late for the Pink Saturday party that is hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.
Here is a beautiful Habiscus I layered on a bit of vintage paper.

While watching the Food Network "kid in the candy store" episode, We discovered a Carmel
apple shop that is just a block away...after watching the show...we HAD to go check it out!!
I have walked by and thought "How can a candy apple store stay in business"
When you walk in, you are greeted by these beautiful colored apples, like 50 flavors...we were
like a kid in a candy store!!! We decided to share this orange cream one. OH MY!!!!
YUMMMMM. They cut it up for you...it is dipped in the softest Carmel, then into a layer of white chocolate then dipped in Orange stuff, then drizzled with more stuff....OH MY, did I say that already?!? It was to die for, REALLY, that good!!!

And...the store was packed with people!

A little sewing too

I love sewing with old lace and buttons. This was put on linen.

I'm getting back to it!!

It's been a long time a comin...Signing up for Stephanie Lees class was the best thing I could have done. It hasn't even started yet and I have all my tools laid out (oh, this is only a small portion.lol) There were things I didn't have time to do when I took her 2 day class. This time around, I'm going to be prepared. I'm getting my copper pipes cut. I have my spoons ready, I have made the hooks and attached them...I have great plans!! I've even been keeping a little journal with all my ideas, Snowmen are in my future..more birds nests. My daughter and I have been busy making fimo birds...I have plans for them....oh! This is going to be a good time!

I know I have said this before. Thank you to you wonderful bloggers that keep coming back when I have nothing but a few photos. My life took such a drastic change when we made this move to So. Calif.
I needed some time to aclamate myself to my new suroundings. Signing up for Stephanie Lees online
class has gotten me excited about crafting again. Finding all my tool has been a challenge. If only I
had put them all in the same packing box...but I didn't. I have my spoons, and metal, and glass. So, hang
in there with me for a few more weeks and I'll have some hand crafted items to show you!! whoohoo!

This week we were to take pictures of textures. I love the smoothness of the sunflower peddles against the purple flower.

And then these berries and figs against the smooth box and the grainy cement

Of course, this is my favorite...the texture of this fountain. I caught this sweet bird taking a bath
