Wish me luck...I found a camera on craigslist, I'm going to go take a look at it tomorrow...I'm having picture taking withdrawls. My daughter is so heart broken for her friend. She talked to his dad today and called me just bawling. He is in jail until June, sitting next to a murderer. There is a good chance he will go to prison for 10 years. To make this short...the father of a 17 year old girl accused him of raping his little girl (he was just out of high school) The judge gave him a felony and will be a "sex offender" for the rest of his life...well, he just did a realllllly dumb thing and shoplifted...so off he goes...to prison. He tried out for American Idol, makes you wonder how different his life could have been. And...the father of the girl...tried to stop the whole thing but it was already in the court system and it couldn't be stopped. See what happens when I don't have photos...I tell you stories.

I am so sorry for your daughter's friend. I feel so said when things like this happen with our young people. I know you said the girl tried to stop it and it was too late because the case was already in the system, but I would hope with a good attorney that could be overturned???? The shoplifting is nothing compared to a lifetime of having a rape over your head. Oh darn, I'm rambling . . . I have a 17-year old manchild that I pray to GOD will listen to me when I tell him stories like this one of your daughter's friend :( *sigh*

Hurry up and get that daggone camera!

Gosh that is just awful...the camera thing and the jail thing. I hope both things get resolved somehow.

I thought the father could "withdraw" the charges? After all if he changed his belief that the boy "raped" his daughter why didn't he testify in the boys behalf? The judge can still overturn the judgement if the he appeals with the fathers testimony can't he? I hope the judge has mercy on the kid and takes his age into consideration. Perhaps if the father wrote a letter to the judge it would help? I would not stop trying. I will say a prayer for him.
