Staceys' Apt.

I'm going to take you on a little tour of Staceys apt. It is so darn cute!! Look at her printer...nope, you cant buy them like that! Didnt she do a great job painting it!
This little cooking hat came with red shoes...would have looked just fine in my house! LOL, but she gave them a coat of green
The picture above is above her tiny kitchen sink. She found and painted this HUGE salt shaker. The S was a great find also. She has quite a collection of oils
We have found quite a few pears at thrift shops, she has repainted them. The black and white candle on the right is a handcarved candle, so beautiful when lit.
Here are two handcrafted vase holders, we have the most wonderful art fair every summer.
An Ikea curtain, it puts such a pretty color in the room with the sun shining through it.
Ok! Who says you cant paint your toaster if it isnt the right color! LOl. Yep, she painted it!
Heres another one of these wire shelfs...she LOVES them!!

This isnt the best picture, but I had to show you this HUGE pear, it is brass and she painted it, Look at the great fork! She painted that too.
The phone jack is on the wall, so she has to put her phone somewhere. Look at this great collection of LeCreusets!!
I love how these older apt.s have such character..We did find out this use to be an old motel!
Do you see another pear!! yep, those are more salt shakers
All the things you see here...bought at different thrift stores!
Interesting mirror
See those bottles on the right and that frame. Stacey sent in photos to Jones Soda and they put them on their bottles...you should have heard me whoop it up in the store when I found them.LOl They have her name on them and where shes from...pretty cool!!
on the bottom shelf...little tiny pear salt and pepper, glass and metal, she bought those off of ebay.
One last shot...a few more of the unique salt and pepper grinders that she has found and painted!

Hope you enjoyed seeing what a 26 year old likes..

This is part 2 of the previous blog, after posting it, I went in and....sliced me finger, RED blood everywhere...I'm thinking...ummm maybe I shouldn't have made a blog about RED. Then I was trying to figure out what to do...after all, this is my day off. Are having a fun little spring thing going on over at their blog, please run and check it out! Here is my ode to spring...I love watermellon, ok, maybe it is more of a summer thing, but I wanted to get a little watercolor action going on, so I played with Red. Speaking of red...I love red purses, and I am not the only one!!
oh...I havent blogged about my kitties for a few days, you all thought that now they had their kitty condo that they have been out of trouble....not so! LOL
This is going to be one messed up post. I coudn't get the top picture to move down here, and It wouldnt let me type up there...so pretend that the top picture is down here...ya, I know, it doesnt really matter.lol. Heres the story, on the other side of the office wall is our bedroom, there was a loud boom, (not at all unusual!) in the middle of the night. I dont panic, I just wonder what I will find when I go in there in the morning (hoping my kitties are both alive and well) Oh, did I mention, we shut them in the office at night to try to keep them safe at night. back to my story, getting up the next morning I found this vase laying on the floor, not broken, they knocked it off from the very tall bookshelf, I had it up in the corner to add a little color, I sure didnt want anything that I had to water up there!! lol Yes, they are still trouble!!

Robins Egg Blue Bird Pincushion

oops, I forgot to allow comments. Isn't their a way to have it do that without having to hit that button every time??
I am sooo excited about this pincushion. I just LOVE it!! It is now listed on my ebay.
You know how you start something and it doesn't quite come together, that is what happened here, I had the pincushion done weeks ago and just set it aside, I went to my local scrap booking store and picked out, yet another, Glimmer Mist. Robin's Egg Blue...so beautiful. I came home and dived right in, I dyed the wool a pale blue when it was almost dry I spritzed with with this Glimmer Mist. I LOVED IT. So I ran in and got the white wool felt and dipped, spritzed and dried it too. THEN I went to my stash of Ribbons, got out this beautiful silk ribbon and spritzed it!! IT ALL CAME TOGETHER! It needed more detail, so while sitting in the car on the way to have lunch in Portland I add the stitches to flowers and leaves. Of course I added my sparkly pins. Some with Martha Stewerts glitter and some with glass glitter. Well, if that wasn't enough, I painted up a matching cupcake in watercolor...look at that CUTE flower!! Its just like the one on the pincushion....way to much fun!! Let me know how you like this one!! I love your comments! My 200th blog is coming up soon...I will be giving away one of my birdies!! Stay tuned!

SPRING Birdie

I took these at the same time. The top one I took outside...it was 7:00 am, the bottom one I took inside. Not sure which one to use!! Let me tell you about this one. The base is a handcrafted piece of pottery. I love the green color! I was going through my vintage millinery flowers and came across a whole hat!! I hadn't used any of it, Not sure how that happened. Well, I immediately tore it apart. The tag said I paid $2.50, what a deal! Ok, here is where the fun came in...I took the netting which was stiff and soaked it until it became pliable and cut out a circle, put it in a bowl and hit it with the hair dryer until it was set...it made the perfect little nest!!! How neat is that!!! It goes perfect with the base. I aged the bird...(oh...I still see the white pin, I'll go get that off!!) I used my beloved Glimmer Mist to age the rayon ribbon. How do you like that tag! I spritzed it with my GM is shimmers, after it was dry I pen and inked the nest and wording. The button is embedded in an aged green sealing wax.
What would my post be like without a photo of my kitties. They are both sharing the Penthouse, of course one is lounging on the "Rooftop" The one inside the Penthouse is usually banned to the basement condo. So today is a "good" day. lol
