Buttons, Birds, Boxes

I am going about this all wrong, and backwards...but tomorrow there is going to be a big bunch of button blog photos going on in blog land. so here is my photo. I'll add the link in the morning...all the photos will be on Analises blog...Sugar*Sugar. Isnt this the cutest little box, I'll tell you..It was UGLY when I got it..It was just a hand made box, but these drawers OH MY, they grabbed me!! The color is just what you see in the photo, with a little gold. So it took a bit of work and layers to get the box to match..I was going to sell it, but you know how it goes...I'm going to have to wait until something else comes along to take its place.lol My little birdie on the left is a work in progress. The one on top is one I sent to Somerset Mag. I'll be putting it out for sell real soon. The one on the right just sold. I'm going to try to get my cupcake charms put on etsy tomorrow...wish me luck.lol.

Hi, Laurie! Thank you for stopping by. I hope that works for you. I've always found that Pine Green and white gets bluer and bluer as you add more white, and the pinch of antique ivory just makes it, well, maybe just perfect? I am almost always able to match old glass with that mix. Another color to look at if you like that color is Folk Art Jamaican Sea. I LOVE that color! At first glance it might look a bit aqua, but it really is more blue than green. Also look at Delta's Paradise. It's bluer than Jamaican Sea. None of them are perfect Robin's Egg, but these two are very pretty to work with. I wish some color chemist would formulate some perfect Robin's Egg for us, because he/she would probably become a billionaire over night! Good luck with your mixing!

Hi Laurie, this vignette is darling and those drawers are the sweetest ever. I love the little cup on top with the sweet bird. I also work with the Jamaican Sea but I add white to take it down a bit from the brightness. I love a color (hard to find) called Sky Blue by Folk Art. It is what I use when I need the perfect Robin's egg blue. Love my visit here and so glad I added you to my favorite blog list.

Oh Laurie, you make me laugh and smile! Those kitties certainly make a mess! And I'll bet your studio is a mess with all that plaster of Paris and snippets of lace and fabric! But what you make from scraps is amazing! Love the blue box! I know just what you mean about not being able to part with some things you had intended to sell. *sigh* I love checking in here to see what you've been up to...and what the "naughties" have gotten into!
